Tell the NH Senate: Remove SB 306 From the Budget!

Every NH municipality and the voters that direct them should be concerned.

When John Lynch was governor, he created a commission to address a phony “water crisis”. Now, some are using a manufactured “housing crisis” to promote the proliferation of “high-density” construction.

Last December we sounded the alarm about HB 104, a bill that would have given a state-level appeals board the right to override the decisions of local boards with regard to land use. The NH House rightfully dispensed with this bill in committee. The Union Leader, a major newspaper, agreed.

Along comes SB 306 in the NH Senate sponsored by Republican Senators Giuda, Carson, Bradley and Representative Hinch along with several Democrats. SB 306 proposes a similar state “board of appeals” with even more draconian power over municipalities, and a $400K price tag to boot! Word has it that the NH Senate has tabled the bill and instead, is planning to include it into the budget they are preparing for the end of May. This budget will then be presented to the House to see if they will concur.

According to the actual wording of the bill, sweeping authority would be given to a 3-member board as follows:

679:5 Authority; Duties.

I. It shall be the duty of the board and it shall have power and authority to hear and affirm, reverse, or modify, in whole or in part, appeals of final decisions of municipal boards, committees, and commissions regarding questions of housing and housing development. This includes, but is not limited to:

(a) Planning board decisions on subdivisions or site plans.

(b) Board of adjustment decisions on variances, special exceptions, administrative appeals, and ordinance administration.

(c) The use of innovative land use controls.

(d) Growth management controls and interim growth management controls.

(e) Decisions of historic district commissions, heritage commissions, and conservation commissions.

(f) Other municipal permits and fees applicable to housing and housing developments.

(g) Matters subject to the board’s authority may include mixed-use combinations of residential and nonresidential uses. Such different uses may occur on separate properties, provided such properties are all part of a common scheme of development.

As you can see, this overreaching provision would basically nullify the vote of the townspeople; taxpayers who have given their boards direction for what should happen in their own towns. Planning, zoning, historic, heritage, conservation, ALL commissions are affected in that SB 306 will allow developers to OVERRIDE those directions using this 3-member state ‘board of appeals’!

This dangerous provision must be stopped. If allowed to be included, would be a blatant power grab and a direct attack on every municipality’s right to direct its own future. It nullifies the vote of the people.

Write to the full NH Senate and let them know you will not tolerate this power grab at the state level. Write to the full House and ask they demand this provision be removed from any budget they are asked to approve.

Local control is at stake.

Legislation Attacking Local Control in NH

There are quite a few NH bills in the works that would raise your taxes as well as take away the right of local control… but nothing more egregious than SB 306 and what some sneaky NH Senators are doing to get it enacted.

Among these bills seeking to levy taxes to award millennials for staying in the state, skimming more taxes to fund “workforce housing”, and bills to award tax credits to private developers, there is this most inappropriate proposal — to establish a “housing appeals board” at the state level so that developers not granted permits for their projects can override those local decisions.

Trump, the UN, and the Arms Treaty

There was much hoopla surrounding Trump’s supposed withdrawal from the the UN Arms Treaty. But are Americans being hoodwinked by mere theatre?

The US Senate never ratified this treaty in the first place!

And in fact, UN Agenda2030 has as one of its goals, complete disarmament.

Why then has Trump administration funded Agenda2030 more than anyone, at any time in history? (see paragraph 5 in link)

More pablum for the masses? And what about those Heritage Sites, tho?

Independence Hall Now Owned by the UN?

Imagine going to visit “the birthplace of America – where the ideals of freedom, liberty, independence, etc. were enshrined – only to find that these symbols have been watered down, transferred, or stolen, and subsumed into a “global vision” that lacks substance, sovereignty or liberty of any kind.

And yes, U.S. of A. is a “republic” not a “democracy” in the first place – but the powers that be are replacing either/both of those anyway…

The United Nations takeover of United States’ landmarks is sending a clear message to newer generations – that the days of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, independence, and the like are somehow gone – magically evaporated in the wake of a new world order that no one voted for, only a tiny elite few championed, and yet everyone is supposed to yield and submit to.”

Form-based Codes: Replacing the Everyday American City With the ‘Ideal Communist City’

In another insightful piece by Kathleen Marquardt of the American Policy Center, she speaks about form-based code, AGenda 21 / Agenda 2030, and the planned society of the future.

Excerpt:

“A form-based code is a land development regulation that fosters predictable built results and a high-quality public realm by using physical form (rather than separation of uses) as the organizing principle for the code. A form-based code is a regulation, not a mere guideline, adopted into city, town, or county law. A form-based code offers a powerful alternative to conventional zoning regulation.

Several years ago, I wrote a series of articles for News with Views, explaining Sustainable Development. Today two of them are popping up regularly in the media. Back when I wrote these two articles, people would not believe that all this planning and organizing could have been dreamed up by the Power Elite, let along set down as part of the blueprint for Agenda 21.”

The Wildlands Project is another offshoot of Agenda 21 / Agenda 2030.

The End Game

Call it what you will — Agenda 21, Agenda 2030, The “Green New Deal”, United Nations SDGs, Sustainable Development, Livable Cities, “New Urbanism” — it’s all just socialism/fascism/corporatism and the goal is to control people, not make their lives better.

Green New Deal – Boldest Tactic Yet to Advance U.N. Agenda 21

“Most people in America don’t even realize that tentacles of a dangerous United Nations program are being enacted in our nation’s cities and certainly our country, with the full cooperation of those in our highest positions of authority. It is so complicated and difficult to believe that many simply dismiss it, considering it just a conspiracy theory. But even a cursory investigation reveals it is very real and the evidence is easily attained.

This intrusive, all-encompassing plan that could eventually affect every aspect of our lives is known as “United Nations Agenda 21.” It’s pure communistic in nature. We all must fight against it if we are to remain a free people and nation. The Green New Deal happens to represent the boldest tactic yet toward the full implementation of Agenda 21 here in this nation.”

Shocking Update on the Green New Deal!

Alexandria

Yes, the Green New Deal was voted down in the Senate. But that is only the beginning of the fight – not the end.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal has hit this country like a ton of bricks – and it’s the best thing that has ever happened to our efforts to expose the tyranny of Agenda 21 policies.

Now, I have discovered an explosive new document hidden on a French Non-governmental organizations’ (NGO) website.

Yes, France has its own Green New Deal, and foreign NGO’s are often more open and honest in their intentions than American NGOs who hide their real goals in innocent-sounding rhetoric.

And remember, these Agenda 21/Green New Deal policies are GLOBAL. The whole world is targeted to enforce these policies.

Here are just a few of the details this French green group – called Novethic – has revealed of the insane regulations that will be the used to enforce our own Green New Deal. (I’m quoting them directly from the document):

“New single family home construction, except trailers, prohibited. New buildings must be exclusively condos with a maximum per capita living area of 320 square feet.”
Remember, I warned that under Smart Growth programs now taking over every city in the nation that single-family homes are a target for elimination, to be replaced by high-rise stack and pack apartments in the name of reducing energy use. The Green New Deal calls for government control of every single home, office and factory to be torn down or retrofit them to comply with massive environmental energy regulations.

“For short trips less than 3 miles, the standard should be ‘soft transport’ (bicycles)… Mandatory fixed working hours in order to simplify the implementation of public transport and carpooling.”

In opposing Smart Growth plans in your local community, I said the main goal was to eliminate cars, to be replaced with bikes, walking, and light rail trains.

The Green New Deal calls for the elimination of the internal combustion engine.

“Quotas to limit the consumption of imported products. Especially coffee, chocolate, exotic fruits…ban on substitutable processed foods, sodas, all junk food, hamburgers, pizzas, pasta, chicken nuggets… Meat consumption to decrease by 10% per year from 2020 to 55 pounds per person per year in 2030… the consumption of dairy products will follow the same trend.”

Most recently I warned that the beef industry is a direct target for elimination. It will start with mandatory decreases in meat consumption until it disappears form our daily diet. The consumption of dairy will follow. Since the revelation of the Green New Deal, the national debate is now over cattle emissions of methane and the drive to eliminate them from the planet. Controlling what we eat is a major part of the Green New Deal.

The Sustainablists have boldly thrown off their cloaking devices and admitted that their goal isn’t just “voluntary environmental protection.”

Instead, they are now openly revealing that their real goal is socialism and global control, just as I’ve been warning about for these past twenty seven years.

Now they are determined to take congressional action to finally make it the law of the land.

Keep in mind, each of the quotes in bold above is from a real document detailing the extent of these tyrannical policies intended to destroy our culture, control how you live, and what you eat.

Over these years elected officials have listened to the Sierra Club, the Nature Conservancy, the World Wildlife Fund, ICLEI, the American Planning Association, and many more, as they assured that their plans were just environmental protection – just good policy for future generations. Well, now the truth is right in front of you. There is no question of who and what is behind this. And no doubt as to what the final result will be.

The Green New Deal has laid bare the horrible reality of my warnings. New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has unwittingly given you and me the weapon we have needed to destroy Agenda 21.

Finally Americans across the country are talking about it. Now many more can see the truth to my dire warnings. Now is our time to strike with everything we have to stop it.

I am leading that fight. I have won some incredible victories against them to protect property rights and push them back. But I am facing a massively funded enemy. Your support is what keeps me going.

Over the past two years you have witnessed how these power mongers will lie, cheat and steal to keep control over your life. You now have positive proof of how far they are willing to go to keep that power over you.

Many Americans are now waking up to this threat. With your support I can teach them the dangers and get many more to help us fight.

Green New Deal and What it Means for Your Town

We marvel at the fact that we are often joined in our local efforts to put a halt to high-density and other features of the “new urbanism” agenda by those who vote at the federal and state level for the very people and policies that are causing the problem locally.

A recent message by Tom DeWeese of the American Policy Center is illustrative. He talks about the “Green New Deal”:

“The Sustainablists have boldly thrown off their cloaking devices and admitted that their goal isn’t just “voluntary environmental protection.”

Instead, they are now openly revealing that their real goal is socialism and global control, just as I’ve been warning about for these past twenty-seven years.”

As we have already seen in our NH towns, the “new urbanists” don’t just want to plan how streets are laid out, they want to control where you live, work, and play, and how you travel and communicate, even how you socialize. It is reminiscent of the model of the planned society of the future.

Tom goes on to say:

“I warned that Agenda 21 would control every aspect of our lives, including how and were we live, the jobs we have, the mode of transportation available to us, and even what we eat. The Green New Deal is a tax on everything we do, make, wear, eat, drink, drive, import, export and even breathe.”

In NH, new urbanist consultants, brought into the towns by the regional planners, have ideas for how you should live, work and play, how you travel, and even how you communicate and socialize. Taxing is a way to control this… but read on for more…

“In opposing Smart Growth plans in your local community, I said the main goal was to eliminate cars, to be replaced with bikes, walking, and light rail trains. The Green New Deal calls for the elimination of the internal combustion engine. The next step will be to put a ban on the sale of new combustion engines by a specific date and then limiting the number of new vehicles to be sold. Bans on commercial truck shipping will follow. Then they will turn to airplanes, reducing their use. Always higher and higher taxes will be used to get the public to “voluntarily” reduce their use of such personal transportation choices.”

In NH we see the push for sidewalks, bike lanes, and commuter rail. Smaller lot sizes, bigger buildings, and transit-oriented development.

“I warned that under Smart Growth programs now taking over every city in the nation that single-family homes are a target for elimination, to be replaced by high-rise stack and pack apartments in the name of reducing energy use.”

Bedford and other towns are currently fighting the “stack and pack” mania…and we’ve even seen other states that HAVE actually passed ordinances against single family zoning!

“I warned that Agenda 21/Sustainable policy intends to drive those in rural areas off the farms and into the cities where they could be better controlled.”

And we have been complaining about this very thing:

“Over these years elected officials have listened to the Sierra Club, the Nature Conservancy, the World Wildlife Fund, ICLEI, the American Planning Association, and many more, as they assured that their plans were just environmental protection – just good policy for future generations. Well, now the truth is right in front of you. There is no question of who and what is behind this. And no doubt as to what the final result will be.”

In Bedford they invited the World Health Organization, AARP, SNHRPC/APA, and other private, unelected, and unaccountable organizations pushing for housing changes from out of the area. NGOs and private corporations are running the show, unbeknownst to the voters who still think they have local control.

The only way to stop this is at the local level, and by NOT voting for it at the State and Federal levels. Will those folks who have joined us in the fight against high-density but still vote for the Agenda at the State and Federal levels ever figure this out?
